The user can also use custom CSS to modify the css classes (e.g. spoiler etc.), color codes (like adding their own color names or editing existing special codes), or technically even the html tags (so for instance text still renders as text but has custom css instead of just underlining).

Here is a reference of just the inline syntax (there’s an even larger list of extended block syntax) for a highly extended markdown variant designed for a wiki website builder geared toward worldbuilding.

What are your thoughts on this? Go through all the different formats. Is anything unclear about what one of the features means? Write some example text using it to get a feel for it. What other ideas would be useful?
